To rise in the ever-evolving world of journalism, Md. Mojahidul Islam charted his course with precision, passion, and a powerhouse portfolio of professional training. Fueled by an unshakable belief in lifelong learning, he immersed himself in the realms of digital media, investigative reporting, media law, and data journalism—turning raw curiosity into well-honed credibility.
At the heart of his journey lay the core principles of journalism. From mastering story structure to refining his interviewing techniques, he built his foundation on strong news values and ethical reporting. He sharpened his digital edge through skills in online reporting, social media engagement, multimedia storytelling, and data-driven narratives—stories that don’t just inform, but reveal deeper truths.

A pioneer in his field of Technology Journalism, Mojahidul Islam was the only journalist in Bangladesh to focus so deeply on in-depth research and source development. He didn’t just report the news—he unearthed it, examined it, and reimagined how it should be told. To navigate the complex legal landscape of journalism, he completed a specialized course covering defamation, privacy, copyright, and media law. As early as 2007, he was already ahead of the curve, exploring the transformative role of ICT for Development and how media can drive economic and social progress—a vision that continues to shape his reporting today.
Md. Mojahidul Islam has successfully completed numerous professional journalism courses, broadening his expertise across a range of essential and emerging areas in modern media. Among his recent achievements, he took part in a three-week course titled “Cyber Security for Media Professionals”, held from November 26 to December 14, 2023, by the National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC). The certificate ceremony took place on January 10, 2024.

Earlier in his career, he completed a specialized course on Internet Resource Management in 2007, offered by the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). In 2019, he earned a certificate in Data-Driven Journalism through a workshop organized by the Internet Society Bangladesh Chapter. That same year, he participated in a Data Journalism course at the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), held from October 20 to 21, and followed it up with PIB-led courses in Online Media Management and Journalism. In 2020, he also completed a workshop on Fact-checking and Combating Web Misinformation, conducted by the Digital Security Agency under the Government of Bangladesh.
Mojahidul further bolstered his investigative and ethical journalism credentials through the “Fact-Checking Ethics and Combating Misinformation” workshop in 2022. He also completed a specialized Fact-Checking Training for Journalists, exclusively organized for members of the Bangladesh ICT Journalists Forum (BIJF). This workshop took place on September 23–24, 2022, at PIB. In April 2016, he was awarded a certificate for training on Public Procurement for Journalists, conducted by PIB under the Public Procurement Reform Project in collaboration with CPTU.

Throughout his career, Mojahidul Islam has consistently participated in journalism career development programs designed to equip professionals with future-ready skills. Through advanced courses in contemporary news reporting and digital media, he continued refining his craft. He developed a specialization in digital content creation, gaining expertise in content strategy, social media management, and digital marketing. His certifications in this domain include:

Driven by a thirst for global perspective, he earned a prestigious fellowship from the Thomson Reuters Foundation, completing an intensive course on Writing Financial and Business News in London from March 1–5, 2010. In March 2016, he was selected for an elite international course on Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Robotics, held in Turin, Italy—jointly organized by the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael.
Adding to his diverse educational portfolio, in 2024, he conducted a four-week Advanced Course on Media Management offered by the National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC). The course provided a comprehensive overview of media structures, management systems, and marketing strategies tailored for modern newsrooms.
Each course, each certificate, each lesson—these were not just academic milestones for Md. Mojahidul Islam.
